A substantial pair of late eighteenth century French bronzes. Corneille and Racine (left and right respectively, main image) Beautifully cast images of the two major literary figures. Authentic greenish patination. These pieces will greatly enhance a setting such as a gentlemans library, entrance hall, mantlepiece or bookshelf. Whilst not stamped or signed (which is not unusual for quality bronzes) obviously a product of an accomplished foundry/sculptor.
