Scotland - 1700, 61.5 x 51.5 cms. mounted. overall, 73.5 x 64.5 incl. the mounting board.
Frederick de Witt (1629 – 1706) was a cartographer and artist who drew, printed and sold maps. On his maps his name also appears as Frederic, Frederik, Frederico and Fredericus (Latinised) and the surname as de Wit or de Widt.
He was born in Gouda and died in Amsterdam.

The map 93 x 62 cms. Overall 99 x 72 cms incl the mounting board.
Alexis Hubert Jaillot French

Engraver, cartographer and globe maker
Originally a sculptor, Jaillot only became interested in cartography after his marriage to the daughter of prominent map colourist Nicolas Berey. Around 1669 he went into partnership with Nicolas Sanson's sons, Guillaume and Adrien, and undertook the job of re-engraving, enlarging and re-publishing Sanson's maps.
These can be sold separately or as a pair.
